Marvel Minimates Wave 42: Beta Ray Bill and Armored Thor 2-Pack

Wave 42 was a more thor-centric wave which introduced some characters that weren't really done before. Like Arnim Zola, Beta Ray Bill, and Eric Masterson. Sadly, this was the only one left in my comic shop when I went there. Meh, I present to you the review.

PACKAGING
This was the second wave of Marvel Minimates which used the new-style packaging. It's the expanded window which let's you view the character and their accessories better. On the left and right you have control art of each character and on the back the entire's wave's roster.

THE FIGURES
Armored Thor
"Normally, Thor thor needs no more armor to take on his opponents, only his hammer Mjolnir. But when a curse by Hela made his bones as brittle as glass, and left him unable to heal from injuries, Thor constructed an enchanted suit of armor that would protect him in battle until the curse was lifted."

I was extremely excited to get this 2-pack because this would be my first Thor! Yes I am a newb at collecting these thing but this was very exciting to get! Anyway, like I said one great Thor...let's get on with this review!

Thor wears a new-sculpted helmet. Very Thor-like. He also wears a great flowing cape. Wave 42 was the wave which introduced flowing capes, took you 42 waves DST! It looks great! He also wear a kilt/skirt which is quite colorful. He also has some nice boots which look like they were reused from the early Thors. He also wears a bracelet which apparently he got after breaking his arm. Most of his limbs are painted bronze. His upper torso has fish net paint which doesn't go all the way.

For accessories he comes with his trusty hammer Mjolnir! Which has some great lettering on it.

Overall Thoughts: Thor-tastic!

Score: 9/10

Beta Ray Bill
"An artificially enhanced alien, Bill was  leading his people, the Korbinites, to a new planet in the wake of the destruction of their homeworld when he encountered Thor. After lifting Mjolnir and proving himself worthy of the power, he was given his own hammer Stormbreaker."

I literally know nothing about this guy except from what the bio on the box said. But though I don't know him he was definitely interesting to get. Let's see why.

Bill is packing a lot of color. He comes with a sculpted head which *gasp* has a nose. You don't see too many of those. He has orange skin and red, black and white gloves. He has a chest piece with a slightly flowing cape attached to it. He wears a newly-sculpted belt, quite stylish Bill. His legs are blue and he has bronze boots. The boots make his feet a little too big in my opinion.

For accessories he has his bronze hammer Stormbreaker. It looks great and the more hammers the better you know? I guess he could also borrow Thor's hammer if you wanted to.

Overall Thoughts: Pretty good. The more characters the better.

Score: 9/10
